Where to Stay in Qingdao
Qingdao stretches a long way along the sea, so first decide which stretch of coast to stay on.
On a first visit, the Hong Kong Middle Road area of Shinan District, with May Fourth Square (5.4 Square) and the Olympic Sailing Center, is easy to get around.
Metro Line 8 runs straight from the airport to 5.4 Square, so getting there and back is easy too.
Hong Kong Middle Road, Shinan District
This is the main road of Qingdao's new town. The seaside promenade and shopping malls are close by.
5.4 Square is a plaza facing the sea, and the Olympic Sailing Center is where the yacht harbor is.

Exit A of Qingdao Central Legal District Station (formerly Yan'erdao Road Station) is about a 2-minute walk.
The Olympic Sailing Center is about 5 minutes away, and 5.4 Square about 14 minutes.

From the Airport to the City
Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport is far from the city. It is about 43km from the hotel in a straight line.
Since Metro Line 8 was extended to its full length in 9/2026, you can ride from Airport Station to 5.4 Square Station without transferring.
The express train takes about 40 minutes. Express trains run only in the morning and at night.
