9.3Bangkok accommodation, which neighborhood to choose
Since Bangkok traffic can be heavy, check how far the accommodation is from a BTS or MRT station first.
Then, choose the neighborhood based on whether you plan to do a lot of shopping and nightlife, or want to relax by the riverside.
Asoke and Phrom Phong (Sukhumvit)
It is around Asok Station, where the BTS and MRT lines meet.
You can use both lines, making it easy to transfer wherever you go in the city.
Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is about a 5-minute walk to BTS Asok Station and about a 6-minute walk to MRT Sukhumvit Station.
Reviewer says shopping malls across the street are close.
Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit is about 5 minutes to BTS Asok Station and about 6 minutes to Nana Station.
Reviewer says it is good for visiting the night market across the street.
Arawana Regency Park Sukhumvit, located a bit further in Soi 22, is about 11 minutes each to BTS Phrom Phong Station and MRT Sukhumvit Station.

Chit Lom · Phloen Chit · Lumphini

Chao Phraya Riverside
A suitable neighborhood when you want to quietly relax while viewing the river.

The Peninsula Bangkok on the west side of the river is about 7 minutes to Charoen Nakhon Station on the Gold Line.

Ari
Located in the northern part of the city, along the BTS Sukhumvit Line going up toward Chatuchak.
Some reviewers say it's quiet because it's in an alley.

About 1.4 km in a straight line to Chatuchak Market.
Some reviewers say the hotel provides a free tuk-tuk to the BTS station.
From the airport to the city center
From Suvarnabhumi Airport, take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai Station in about 26 minutes.
Transfer to the BTS Sukhumvit Line at Phaya Thai Station, or to the MRT Blue Line Phetchaburi Station at Makkasan Station.
